Debt Recovery
Unpaid invoices can affect even the most efficient and organised of businesses. Old debts can hold you back by restricting cash flow and can become a drain on resources should you decide to pursue them yourself.
Don’t let debt drag you down
Often your debtors can be encouraged to settle without resorting to legal advice. But for those times when you might need to take matters a step further, PCB is on hand to help you understand the processes involved and carry out the work on your behalf.
Before taking any action, our experienced solicitors will help you to assess the situation and weigh up the potential costs and benefits of proceeding.

Have the experts on your side
Not every debt claim has to go to court. We’re looking out for your interests and, if a matter can be settled simply, we would prefer that – we’re quite sure you would too!
Sometimes a formal ‘letter before action’ requesting payment in a reasonable time frame is enough to resolve the matter. You can instruct our Debt Recovery Department to do this for you and be confident in giving such a letter the best chance of success.
In the event this does not work, our team will discuss all of your options with you in detail, covering topics including:
- Deciding whether to make a claim
- Choosing an appropriate legal route
- How the claim will be made
- What happens after a claim has been issued and served
- Implications of a contested court case
- Your rights to recover interest
- How the judgement can be enforced
- Winding up and bankruptcy petitions
If we begin legal proceedings on your behalf, we will do it quickly and efficiently, keeping you informed throughout of progress.

"I had been accepted for Voluntary Redundancy and advised to contact a solicitor to get a basic Settlement Agreement checked and authorised in a limited time. I contacted three solicitors in my area and no-one came back to me - I had been told they were exceptionally busy, despite this being a simple piece of work. I contacted PCB and Ryan Bickham got in touch the same day. We talked through everything over the phone, he explained the paperwork as we went through, asked a few questions to clarify all was correct regarding my contract, dates and salary etc. By the end of the day, all was sorted and very painless. He then proceeded to complete the necessary work and the process was finished prior to the deadline set out by my company. I would highly recommend PCB (and Ryan Bickham, of course, if Employment Law is required)."J. Ferguson
"Settlement Agreement - What I thought may have been a confusing and challenging conversation regarding my settlement was anything but. Ryan Bickham guided me through the agreement, pointed out in plain language the interpretation of each section and made me aware of my rights regarding what the Company were asking me to agree to. The whole experience was very stress free and completed in a very short period of time. My personal thanks to Ryan and I will be using PCB Solicitors again."Anonymous
A very positive experience. I was initially a bit sceptical about the need for advice/ instruction insisted upon by my former employer, but I was assured that this was perfectly normal practice and that all could be done within the available budget. The advice that I received was efficient, timely and professional. Thank you!Mrs W

"Good morning Ryan, I just wanted to let you know that the problem regarding the car purchase has been resolved amicably. The garage agreed not to pursue any further demands for signatures and, as a goodwill gesture, have included many extra items with the car. In view of your comments, we have decided to go ahead with the purchase. We very much appreciate your advice."Liz
