Legal Secretary – Residential Property – Knighton

We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Legal Secretary to join our Knighton office to support the Head of Property and Residential Property team. Day to day you will be expected to carry out duties such as greeting clients who attend the office and arranging appointments, opening and closing files including archiving, drafting documents and correspondence and answering incoming internal and external telephone calls.  

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and advantageous individual who enjoys engaging in business development and will support the growth of the department and company. For the successful candidate, this role has the potential to develop into a Legal Assistant position within the Residential Property team and you will work as part of a friendly, supportive, and approachable team.

Job Responsibilities:

· Answering internal and external telephone calls, taking messages and redirecting to the appropriate personnel,

· Dealing with clients from the outset, liaising between the client, Fee Earner and other third parties,

· Opening and closing files on the case management system (ALB), including archiving,

· Drafting correspondence, documents, forms and attendance notes using the case management system (ALB),

· Accurately using Property systems to update client matters such as SDLT and Land Registry,

· Ensuring each client matter is up to date in line with PCB’s compliance standards,

· On boarding clients and organising appointments, managing the Lawyer’s and office calendar,

· Providing excellent client care in line with PCB Solicitors standards,

· General ad hoc administration such as dealing with incoming and outgoing post for the department,

· Build strong client relationships with new and existing clients. 

Essential Skills:

· Highly organised with precise attention to detail,

· Experience with MS office applications,

· Experience using case management and legal systems such as ALB,

· Ability to work under pressure and retain high levels of confidentiality at all times,

· Proven internal and external communication skills,

· Maintain your continuing professional development requirements,

· Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team,

· Have a positive approach and strong work ethic.

Job Types:

· Full-time, Permanent.

Schedule:

· Monday to Friday (35 hours per week).

Place of work:

· Knighton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).

Experience:

· Experience working in a Legal Secretary/Legal Support role required,

· Experience working in Residential Property preferable.

Salary:

· Between £21,000.00 and £22,400.00 FTE, depending on qualifications and experience.
